How to model a Bali roof in ArchiCAD?
Well actually I first did a Google search for "bali roof" images to be sure I understand what a "bali roof" should look like. Another clue also came from Djordje asking Mhlekazi to qualifying if this roof must be thatch or tiles.
Here is part of what the image search on Google came up with:

MultiCad presents ArchiCAD Masterclass 2014 in Cape Town
This "ArchiCAD Masterclass" is a unique course format that has already brought the user's skills to another level in a very short and focused time. This course was hosted by Graphisoft SA in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg over two consecutive weeks in early December 2014. The training was presented by selected ArchiCAD Trainers and Graphisoft Registered Consultants from across South Africa.
ArchiCAD 18 - Join the Creative Flow
"BIM innovation has been shifting from adding new features to introducing innovative new workflows — this is exactly what ArchiCAD 18 offers end-users," said László Vértesi, Vice President of Product Development at GRAPHISOFT. "With ArchiCAD 18, we pinpointed the most important user requests related to workflow issues with the clear goal of providing our users with solutions that keep them in the creative design flow with as little disruption as possible."
"We are delighted that GRAPHISOFT has decided to integrate CineRender into ArchiCAD 18 - offering a bridge to CINEMA 4D for users who wish to add even more sophisticated graphics and animations to their projects," said Harald Egel, Managing Partner and CEO of MAXON. GRAPHISOFT SA is proud to announce the FREE exchange program of WIBU dongles to CODEMETER dongles for all it’s SSA clients in SADC. The dongle exchange is aimed at replacing all WIBU dongles used by SSA clients in SADC, as these dongles offer limited programming flexibility and most importantly, these dongles will not be compatible with future versions of ArchiCAD. |
"Architectural visualization live online seminar"
In my career I have been using ArchiCAD since version 6.5 for mainly design development and documentation. Between working hours and lost sleep, I would take my ArchiCad documentation model and love to spend long leisurely hours setting up lighting and materials, placing furniture, landscaping, etc and rendering my projects. Some rare occasions the rendering was on commission for a client, but mostly it was to satisfy my itch to create beautiful renders. |

I. ArchiCad DWF Publishing Setup & Tools
II. ArchiCad DWF Web Tools & communication
III. Importing Mark-up / Redlining info from DWF Web files into ArchiCad
In a case like this the handling of a) Libraries, b) Modules, c) Linked External files & d) Attributes is curtail to the successful migration.
These steps will apply as example for a solo project with no linked modules or linked DWG / PDF / image files:
1. Download & install “ArchiCAD 10 Packages - open files from version 6.5 and ArchiCAD 7.0 Packages “ http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/downloads/Fileconverter.html
2. Open the installed “ArchiCAD 10 “ and on the menu go to File/Open then Browse & select your ArchiCad 7 project Click OPEN
3. The Library Manager will open. Browse to the ArchiCad 7 Library on your computer / server and Add it to the library list
Some users struggle with this in the beginning because ArchiCad works with pens rather different than other 2D / CAD and 3D / BIM software products. I do not mind focusing on this aspect when needed at all, because everything in ArchiCad changes from struggling to "plain sailing" once you grasp this different but rather simple concept.
The easiest way for me to explain this to you in shortest terms is to refer to this section below in ArchiCad’s Help Menu ("HELP> Configuration > Attributes > Pen Sets > Predefined Pen Sets for Specific Functions"):
